Liam Cunningham/Game of Thrones: “My family thinks Davos is going to die!” [Exclusive Video Interview]

While doing the promotion of the miniseries: The Hot Zone that will premiered on National Geography On May 27^th, Liam Cunningham reveals the last hours of Game of Thrones, the impact on his family, his only regret and his opinion about the cup left on the table!

Some roles are just made to entertain but with some others, there is a sense of responsibility. Did you approach this character of a real scientist in The Hot Zone in a different way?

Liam Cunningham: In a way I didn’t differentiate between the two. With the Game of Thrones, I still felt a responsibility because that show…as an actor if you do your job, you mirror a society. Game of Thrones represent an age of power, of corruption, legacy, paranoia, all of those things. With the Hot Zone we have a responsibility to tell a story that people will really want to get into. But at the same time, responsibility is to tell the story honestly and also tell the people that if we do nothing about this problem, it’s going to be big trouble for us very soon! So yes there was a sense of responsibility.

Your daughter is a big fan of Game Of Thrones so what does she thinks of the last recent episodes she’s seen so far?

Liam Cunningham: She loves it! We have above our television the death board with all the names and all the dots and with the predictions of who is going to live and who is going to die. There are people in my family that I’m going to die, that’s how loyal they are ! No loyalty!

Is there a n emotion, a storyline during all those years on Games of Thrones that Davos hasn’t covered?

Liam Cunningham: Killing Melisandre is one of them. He never got the chance to do that and he promised he would do it. He’s waited five or six seasons to kill her. Ad she went off and died. But at least she is not a problem anymore.

Everybody is talking about the Starbucks cup left on the table. What do you think of it?

Liam Cunningham: It shows that even Game of Thrones is human!

Liam Cunningham: “Toute ma famille pense que Davos va mourir ! »

Si la saga  Game of Thrones  s’approche de sa fin et promet donc une ultime bataille pour Cersei, Daenerys et leurs alliés respectifs, les acteurs eux qui ont terminé le tournage il y a plus de dix mois, continuent de garder le mystère sur ceux qui vont faire les frais de la fameuse liste d’Arya. L’avant dernier épisode sera diffusé ce 13 mai sur OCS et Liam Cunningham (Davos) nous a accordé un entretien exclusif alors qu’il fait la promotion de la mini-série :  The Hot Zone  qui évoque le virus Ebola avec aussi Julianna Margulies et qui sera diffusée sur National Geographic à partir du 27 mai.

Mais pour l’heure l’acteur et sa famille vivent les dernières heures de Game of Thrones avec le même suspense que les téléspectateurs à en juger les confidences que nous a fait l’acteur. ” Ma fille adore la série. D’ailleurs au-dessus de notre télévision nous avons un tableau avec toutes les photos de ceux qui vont ou pas survivre et nous faisons nos pronostics. Et toute ma famille pense que Davos va mourir. aucune loyauté de la part de ma famille ! “

 Et de l’acteur d’évoquer son plus grand regret : « Ne pas avoir tuer Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) ! «  Il avait promis qu’il le ferait, il a attendu cinq, six saisons mais elle est morte comme ça. Au moins elle ne pose plus de problème à qui que ce soit… »

Liam revient également sur la fameuse tasse laissée par inadvertance apparue dans l’épisode diffusé la semaine dernière et qui a fait coule tant d’encre. : « cela prouve que même dans Game of Thrones nous sommes humains ! »

Pour :  The Hot Zone   (six épisodes)dans lequel il campe le scientifique Wade Center, la donne est différente. « Nous avons avec cette mini-série la responsabilité de raconter l’histoire (vraie) de façon honnête car si nous ne faisons rien, cela va cause un grave problème et très rapidement… »
